All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CSB)
Nothing in life is more instructive, comforting, and convicting to us than the Word of God. As believers, it is our truth – the rock on which we stand during both great and challenging times. In Psalm 42:1, David likens himself to the deer; “As a deer longing for flowing streams of water, so I long for you, God.” He reminds us that it is God – his Word – that our bodies yearn for. It is a fresh water that only God can bring to those who are thirsty.
Most of us have favorite scriptures we frequent to celebrate God’s love and grace over our lives. We, too, may even have a list of verses that focus on our receipt of blessings, those good things we expect God to give us in the form of material and/or earthly wealth and possessions. But, what words, if any, do you cling to when difficulties are a plenty or when despair sets deep inside your bones and fleshly responses to unforeseen circumstances exacerbate the tense conditions of your heart? What Scripture do you cling to in pivotal moments of exercised faith?
In those moments, do you remember WHO YOU ARE and WHOSE YOU ARE? Do you seek God’s word for comfort and peace, instead of the advice of friends, family, or other worldly and idolatrous counselors? Do you seek God’s hand for everything that you need?
If so, KEEP GOING! Put that action on “AUTO-REPEAT”!
If not, let’s START A NEW HABIT.
The pages that follow are to help you explore God’s Word when excited, saddened, or unsure about life. Listed are various Scriptures that have encouraged, strengthened, and steadied thousands of women over the course of time, including us at Conflicts of the Heart.
We pray that the Holy Sprit breathes great life into those words of God, and simultaneously breathes new life into your circumstances and body.
God’s Word is eternal and capable of doing all things in and through you, if you let Him!
